In this two-day workshop, Jordan K. Walker will explore with you the basic principles of landscape painting, including composition, value, depth, and color. This class will also touch on essential techniques of oil painting, such as paint application, edge control, and color mixing. Day 1 will be spent in the classroom at the Maude Kerns Art Center painting in monochrome from photo reference and covering the fundamentals. Day 2 will paint directly from life at the Meadowlark Prairies West Eugene and learn to record some of the subtleties of nature while altering what we see to create compelling images. All levels of experience are welcome. Nature is full of awe-inspiring environments and there are few experiences more exciting than capturing a sense of these places through paint!
