Description

Basic Jewelry Design and History of Personal Adornment

Bea Roberts

November 4 & 5
1 - 4pm

Join artist/jeweler Bea Roberts for a fascinating look into personal adornment. Bea brings to us her years of experience as a worldwide traveler in search of jewelry/wearables and introduces us to a variety of reasons humans adorn themselves. The first day will be a rich cultural dive into designing by looking at a variety of unique cultural designs. We will explore basic tools and techniques and students will begin the process of designing a piece of jewelry or wearable. Participants will be given a list of local resources if they want to shop after the class. On the second day, students will finish their beading and embellishments. Bea will demonstrate and bring in professional jewelry-making tools and supplies. While some tools will be available to share, participants may purchase tools for their own use. All students will need to purchase their own beading materials. Please see the materials list provided on our website. Bea will help you push the "creative box" and show you what it takes to make professional jewelry. We invite you to join in this one-of-a-kind experience!

Members $95
Non-Members $110
