This hands-on studio course will focus on the technique of relief printmaking, including multiple variations of linoleum relief carving and using the press to create unique prints. Students will learn how to transfer their drawn design to the block, using tools, inks, and brayers, as well as various methods to create multi-color designs. No experience is necessary, and any level of Maker is welcome! Some in-depth and advanced techniques will be offered for continuing students and anyone who would like a refresher. Students will have the freedom to experiment at their own pace.
All students enrolled in an MKAC Printmaking class will receive four free open studio sessions to work outside of class time. These sessions can be used during the current term and the one following. Each studio session is four hours long.
