This class takes students through the most basic of printing techniques all the way to a more complicated three color print. You will complete a handful of projects that will build on each other, culminating in a final, semi large-scale 3-color reductive print that will take up the last 3 classes. Loosen up your printmaking process again using simple potato block printing, printing on fabric, how to make your own stamps, how to transfer drawings to linoleum, and how to carve and print multiple colors on a linoleum block. Prior drawing and painting experience is necessary in this class. We will move quickly through a variety of techniques and not spend time on composition or other design principles which can be challenging without some prior experience.
