Immerse yourself in the practice of fabric printing and experiment with how to transform textiles with various printmaking techniques. In this introductory class, students learn the basics of small scale screen printing and block printing onto fabric along with other mark making and experimental techniques. Students create and print their own designs onto fabrics using printmaking inks and procion dyes. Water-based inks on fabric using screen printing and relief techniques, Procion dyes via block printing, resist and dye techniques, and light reactive cyanotype dye. Students are welcome to bring their own light-colored fabrics of natural fiber: cotton, linen and silk, *some fabric provided
