Michelangelo and Modigliani famously preferred sculpture to painting, although both artists excelled at painting. Sculpture is fun and exciting, and our world has no shortage of materials available for use in the exploration and development of 3 dimensional art. In this Developing Voices class, we will examine artists who use a variety of materials beyond the 2 dimensional, in addition to covering concepts, techniques, and approaches to creating and exhibiting three dimensional art. This dynamic class will have guest speakers, slide presentations, and in class activities designed to get you thinking about art as a material measure of the world we live in.
